This document defines the requirements for the
TA+ suite of applications, which are divided into five categories:
1. Client to Server
Connectivity
4. Specialized Dictation Devices
2. Printer Hardware
5. Security 3. Client
Hardware and Software 6. Server: Document Management, Dictation, Speech Recognition, Hardware and
Software
These requirements must be met or exceeded for

The TA+ system is a client/server based suite of
applications.
Client
applications include the following:

1. CLIENT
- SERVER CONNECTIVITY REQUIREMENTS
The bandwidth available between the client and server can have a dramatic
impact on the performance of the system.
Two scenarios are typical:

Client
and Server are located on the same 100Mbps or 1Gbps LAN.
-
Client
is remote, located at a user's home, and the Server is located at a
hospital or ASP center.
Two types of clients can be used:
* These two types of clients have different connectivity requirements.
For TA+, if the Client is located at a remote location, such as a user's home,
then the connectivity mechanism
needs to support at least 56 Kbps from the server to the client. This
bandwidth can be achieved with the following:

Transcribe+, if the

Transcribe+ includes a word
processor, abbreviation expander, line counting software, spellchecker and
medical and Pharmaceutical spellcheckers. The word processor, line
counting software and abbreviation expander are proprietary. AAI has a
global license for the standard dictionary (Wintertree) and the medical and
pharmaceutical spellcheckers (Spellex). The medical and pharmaceutical
dictionaries are updated quarterly. Neither Transcribe+
and TA+ requires MS Word or WordPerfect. Specialized third party
transcription products are no longer needed.

preferred models support uploading DSS files with meta data (pre-defined
dictator and worktype).

DVR+
supports uploading DSS files in Standard Play 'SP' format, the most
frequent DVR format.
5. SECURITY REQUIREMENTS
Network Security

All equipment not part of
AAI's ASP Center must be protected with a firewall capable of allowing or
denying packets based
on IP address and port number.
|
|
All network traffic from
AAI to Customers is to be transmitted using a site to site VPN. This
VPN will use triple DES
encryption. Several VPN
options are supported, for example:
